Our Origin Story…..
Ramsamy Crane Hire was founded by husband-and-wife team Lawrence and Lavinia, who decided to join forces to start their own crane hire business. With Lawrence’s extensive background in the construction industry and dragline operations in the mines, combined with Lavinia’s business acumen, it was only natural for them to embark on this entrepreneurial journey.
Since then, the company has expanded its operations and fleet, incorporating innovative practices to lead the way for future advancements in the crane industry. Under the leadership of Lawrence and Lavinia as directors, Ramsamy Crane Hire is supported by a dedicated team of highly trained staff.
As an Indigenous-owned business registered with Supply Nation and other local indigenous organisations, Ramsamy Crane Hire is uniquely positioned to assist with portfolio performance for Commonwealth awarded tenders under the new Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy.
Our Director
Lawrence Ramsamy Snr is well-known in the Mackay & surrounding region for his steadfast commitment to safety, quality of service and industry knowledge.
Lawrence Snr possesses almost 50 years of experience in the construction, mining, industrial and infrastructure industries. With Lawrence Snr’s vast experience, our clients are assured the utmost measure of skill is applied to the planning and execution of every lift.
Our Operations Manager
Lawrence Ramsamy Jnr joined the company in 2004. Adopting the strong work ethics of the family business, Lawrence Jnr has gained vast experience and knowledge in all aspects of rigging and operations of a variety of cranes.
As the next generation, Lawrence Jnr’s learned knowledge has allowed business operations to flourish by having a firm grasp on the needs of the industry today and for the future.

TO SAFETY
At Ramsamy Crane Hire, we operate on the principle that every job can be completed safely and we pride ourselves on maintaining an impeccable record of safety performance. We comply with industry Health and Safety regulations as well as our own Health and Safety management plan, policies and procedures.
Ramsamy Crane Hire operates under a Safety and Health Management System which makes provision for the discharge of obligations of management and employees under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the Electrical Safety Act 2002 with respect to the management of risk in the workplace. The System also makes provision for compliance of operations with the requirements of the Mobile Crane Code of Practice 2024, Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 an Environmental Protection Act 1994.
All Ramsamy Crane Hire operators, riggers and dogmen hold current High Risk Work licences, General Safety Induction Construction Industry cards and Work Safely At Heights certificates. These personnel have completed relevant site inductions and will continue to do so as required.
